Hi! This is me.
I'm currently pursuing a Honours Bachelor of Computing from the University of Guelph with a major in Computer Science. I am passionate about software enhancement and developing new programs that help bring change to the world! I'm a fast learner and problem-solving is what I enjoy the most.
I'm currently fluent in C, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular, MongoDB, and a touch bit of Python.
Some fun facts about me include collecting old coins and banknotes, being afraid of heights and deep bodies of water, and binge-watching the greatest TV show of all time (Game of Thrones).
I've developed a strong understanding of creating a visually appealing and responsive website through the use of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I also have experience with Angular and MongoDB for single-page client applications that require a database.
I have a firm understanding of C which many believe is a fundamental language to learn. C taught me many things, some of them being code syntax, writing clean and readable code, and many concepts such as working with memory, dynamic memory allocation, files, data structures, function pointers, and much more!
Some of the operating systems and tools that I've been acquainted with through school assignments and personal time include working with macOS, Windows, Linux, Terminal, Xcode, VS Code, and Github/Gitlab.
There's a lot out there and many to choose from. For starters, I'd like to get to know more about the front-end and back-end languages so that I'm comfortable with running an application from the inside out. These languages include Javascript, Typescript, or elm for front-end and Python, Golang, or Kotlin for back-end. I'm also interested in iOS development so Swift and Objective-C are also something I'd love to explore in the future.
Side projects are something I'm truly passionate about as it helps me broaden my knowledge and put my understanding of a particular language to test. Some ideas I have for side projects include building a real-time messaging chat app, a game of some sort in iOS using Swift, and building a fully functional website using front-end and back-end implementation.
Programming frameworks are amazing because they help save time and makes building a program much easier as it provides with tools that can be implemented in a given language. Some frameworks that are on my radar and would love to get my hands on include React for building enhanced user interfaces, Vue.js for progressive app development, Django for Python development, and Angular for HTML and Typescript implementation.
For me, Basketball is something that I watch, play, analyze, and sometimes bet my money on. It keeps me active and helps keep my mental state in check. It's a great source of cardio for me and always puts a smile on my face. Some of my all-time favorite players include Michael Jordan (GOAT), Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Shaquille O'Neal, and Lebron James (baby GOAT). Go RAPS!
Being outdoors always gets me excited as it allows me to be spontaneous and live life to the fullest. During the sunny summer, I enjoy playing volleyball on the beach or go hiking with the people I love. During the cold winter, I enjoy snow tubing and zip-lining with family and friends. Exploring new places always makes me feel relaxed and creates happy memories for me. Some of the places that I love visiting include Algonquin Provincial Park, Muskoka, Tobermory, Rattlesnake Point, Mont-Tremblant, Scarborough Bluffs, and local trails.
In case you didn't know, Onewheel is a self-balancing electric board that I absolutely cherish. It's essentially controlled by sensors that monitor your motion. I love taking it to trails and just exploring, in general, is extremely fun. I would likely take my onewheel over my car if I have to go nearby as it has a range of about 15 miles. Heck, I commute to my gym with this gem.
